We’re excited to share our recent collaboration with Ovo Energy, where we transformed their Bristol headquarters with a sustainable brand refresh. This project blended bold design with eco-friendly materials to reflect Ovo’s commitment to the environment.

Striking Exterior and Eco-Friendly Interiors

The refresh begins at the entrance, where vibrant green vinyl gives the windows a fresh, bold look. The existing Ovo logo was re-coated in white, creating a welcoming focal point at the reception that reinforces their brand identity and environmental values.

Inside, we incorporated printed plywood panels, locally sourced vinyl, and acrylics to create engaging, sustainable design elements throughout the office. Custom logos and lettering crafted from routed and painted plywood added a bespoke, high-quality finish.

The “Launchpad” Feature

One standout element is the “Launchpad” area near the lift, where we installed low-energy green neon lighting. This feature brings a dynamic, energy-efficient touch, balancing eye-catching design with sustainability.

Step into the enchanting world of Icescape at The Tropicana in Weston Super Mare, where N3 Display Graphics were delighted to work with the team at Icescape to bring the UK's largest outdoor ice rink to life. In this blog post, we delve into the work that transformed The Tropicana into a Winter Wonderland.

The Canvas

The canvas here was vast, and we spared no detail in using top-notch materials. Foamex board, printed ply wood, and eye-catching vinyl window graphics became the tools of our trade, transforming a simple space into a festive spectacle. The grand entrance, adorned with a spectacular banner, served as the gateway to a magical experience. Around the surround of the ice rink large 3m drops of banner material creates a huge backdrop covering over 450 square metres within the marquee. We also supplied over 37 Heras banners to Icescape across the sites that they are operating. These are ideal for covering fencing in very windy locations.

Icescape Unveiled

Icescape at The Tropicana is more than an ice rink; it's a celebration of Christmas joy and the timeless tradition of ice skating. It was a delight to help create a space that seamlessly blends holiday vibes with the excitement of gliding on ice. The careful selection of materials and the strategic placement of graphics contribute to the immersive experience.

Our team was tasked with supplying large flex face graphics with stretch graphics to cover two elevations, making this project a unique and exciting challenge for N3 Display Graphics.

We began by removing old graphics and preparing surfaces, ensuring they were ready to receive the new digitally printed wallpaper . External signage was also replaced to match The Bart Ingredients Company new corporate identity.

The project entailed printing and installing over 200 square meters of digitally printed wallpaper . To achieve the desired results, we used Drytac's ReTac Canvas material, providing durability and high-quality finish. We’ve replaced her old fascia boards and transformed them with a fresh coat of her chosen Farrow and Ball colour. Adding a touch of elegance, we applied gold vinyl lettering and stand-off acrylic lettering with a gold vinyl finish. The result is a captivating shopfront that truly captures the essence of Kelly Marie Kitchen Interiors.

The exhibition focusses on Noah Ark Zoo Farm's story, and is designed to be as accessible and inclusive as possible with accessible sentences, level access, sensory experiences and more.

The first step in this process was to select high-quality plywood boards. We chose plywood because it is durable, has a natural wood grain texture, and is relatively lightweight. It is important to note that the wood grain will show through the printed design, adding an organic element to the final product. We made sure to select boards that were free of any large knots or blemishes that could impact the final print quality.

Direct Print

The next step was to print directly onto the plywood boards. We used a specialised machine, the HP Latex r2000 Printer that is designed to handle irregular surfaces like wood. We used high-quality, latex based Eco inks. We chose to print in full colour plus white ink , allowing us to create bold and eye-catching designs that would draw visitors' attention to the exhibition.

Cut to shape

After the printing was complete, we cut the board to size and in some cases to shape on our Zund cutter. Finally we used a liquid laminate evenly applied across the board to protect the print and to add a level of UV protection to resist fading over time. We were thrilled with the final result - the prints had a beautiful, natural texture thanks to the wood grain showing through, and the colours were vibrant and eye-catching.

One of the biggest advantages of printing directly onto plywood boards is that they can be displayed without frames, making them a cost-effective option for exhibitions. We chose to mount our boards onto the walls using simple brackets, allowing visitors to see the full surface of the prints without any obstruction.

The aim of the office branding is to create a positive and inspiring environment that reflects the company's values, culture, and mission.

We created some simple graphics using the company logo internally on stand-off fixings to create depth. Colin also wanted to showcase the City of Bath as the company’s home, whilst creating a feature piece to liven up a plain wall in the main office using Drytac Retac Self Adhesive wall paper.

Brand new ECO product – now standard across our range of roller-banner systems.

Soyang solar greyback banner eco material offers the high quality banner material required from a professional display material. We use this material as it is PVC free and suitable for indoor and outdoor uses.

It is made from polyester yarn coated with a water based biodegradable acrylic solution. It has all the qualities of a PVC banner, but is widely recyclable along with other polyester plastics such as water bottles.

This makes our banner systems which as the ever popular banner stand much easier to deal with at the end of life. The cassettes are primarily aluminium. Aluminium is easy to recycle.

Many waste facilities can successfully recycle old aluminium by processing it mechanically or chemically.

We have recently completed work installing stretch fabric wall frames for Jack FM in Oxford. We were briefed with replacing existing wall coverings no longer fulfilling a professional finish. Had to be a fabric solution for soundproofing acoustics.

WHAT WE DID...

Removal of old graphics. Survey a detailed set of measurements, pack out walling with batons, to cater a level fixing and create wall frames to carry stretch fabric graphics. Fully installed around the radio broadcasting schedule, to a high standard with cut outs and apertures for windows, switches and other wall mounted items.

We recently used Drytac Polar Street FX aluminium print media to produce a range of eye-catching outdoor floor graphics to promote social distancing across the city of Bristol. The footprint style graphics were designed by Bristol City Council for use in high traffic areas of the city ahead of non-essential shops reopening in mid-April.

The aim of the graphics was to encourage social distancing among shoppers when they were out and about on the high street, helping to limit any further spread of the Covid-19 virus. As such, Bristol City Council required an attractive design that would stand out under shoppers’ feet. We quickly identified that Drytac Polar Street FX was the ideal solution for the project.

ADAPTING TO CHANGING TIMES

Sam saw an opening for a mobile Pizza Kitchen, which we originally gave a rather conservative branding to, a couple of years ago.

With the advent of Covid and lockdown Sam saw the opportunity for takeaways and teamed up with local publicans, to offer a takeaway beer and pizza service.

As this was going so well he wanted to increase the profile with bigger, brighter vibrant graphics. A full wrap was commissioned to N3 .

The new printer produces unprecedented quality and colours on rigid up to 98 inches, for sustained production environments. We can now print even more amazing colours and media look and feel. It helps us expand our offering with the glossiest white that resists yellowing. As well as increasing our productivity with smart printing, maintenance and servicing.

N3 WIN BEST STAND AT BUSINESS SHOWCASE SOUTH WEST

Whoops...we did it again! N3 has won the award once more for having the best stand at the October show of Business Showcase South West held at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.

Take a look at the fully dressed exhibition stand with cosy wood burner and seating below. We also won the award back in May at the same event.
